BioShock Infinite is a first-person shooter video game developed by Irrational Games and published by 2K Games. Infinite is the third installment in the BioShock series, and though it is not immediately part of the storyline of previous BioShock games, it does feature similar gameplay concepts and themes. Irrational Games and creative director Ken Levine based the game's setting on historical events at the turn of the 20th century, such as the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition, and based the story on the concept of American exceptionalism, while also incorporating influences from more recent events at the time such as the 2011 Occupy movement.

Set in 1912, the game has protagonist, former Pinkerton agent Booker DeWitt, sent to the floating air city of Columbia to find a young woman, Elizabeth, who has been held captive there for most of her life. Though Booker rescues Elizabeth, the two become involved with the city's warring factions: the nativist and elite Founders that rule Columbia and strive to keep its privileges for White Americans, and the Vox Populi, underground rebels representing the underclass of the city. During this conflict, Booker learns that Elizabeth possesses strange powers to manipulate "Tears" in the space-time continuum that ravage Columbia, and soon discovers her to be central to the city's dark secrets.

The player controls Booker throughout the game, eventually working with the AI-controlled Elizabeth. Like previous BioShock games, the player utilizes a combination of weapons, Gears, and psychokinetic powers granted through Vigors. Elizabeth's powers can also be used to help fight hostile forces. In contrast to the limited spaces of the underwater city of Rapture, the open air city of Columbia provides for more dynamic combat challenges, including combat that takes place aboard the city's Sky-Line rollercoaster-like rail system. Downloadable content for the game includes a story-based mission, Burial at Sea, that links Infinite's story to that of the first two BioShock games.

The game won over 85 pre-release awards for its display at E3 2011, including Best of Show from the Game Critics Awards. BioShock Infinite received critical acclaim upon release, with many critics particularly praising its story, setting, and visual art design, and was the third-highest rated video game of 2013 according to review aggregator Metacritic. It went on to sell over 3.7 million retail copies within the first two months of its release, and has since sold more than 4 million copies overall. The game received numerous year-end awards, including Game of the Year from several publications, Best Shooter at the VGX 2013, and Action Game of the Year at the 17th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards.

Superman battles Deathstroke in the Metropolis stage. Injustice features 3D characters and backgrounds, but is played on a two-dimensional plane.The gameplay for Injustice: Gods Among Us involves one-on-one matches within a two-dimensional plane, although characters and backgrounds are rendered in a three-dimensional fashion. Each match consists of one round; however, each player has two health bars. The game uses a four-button control layout of light, medium, and heavy attacks, alongside a "character trait" button that activates a unique ability or attack designed to showcase each character. For instance, Superman's trait provides a temporary stat boost, while Batman's trait summons a swarm of robotic bats.
The stages, based on locations such as the Batcave, Watchtower, and Fortress of Solitude, feature interactive environments and multiple areas. If a heavy attack is connected near a corner that leads to another area, it launches the opponent, triggering a special animation, and taking the fight to this new part of the stage. Each arena also contains objects that the characters utilize differently depending on their class.Characters can be either gadget characters or power characters. Then, a gadget character like Batman can attach a bomb to a car to cause an explosion, while a power character like Superman can pick up the same car and smash his opponents with it.Before each fight, players have the option to turn off interactive elements and area transitions.
During combat, players charge their character's super meter by performing combos or getting hit by the opponent. Portions of the super meter can be used for performing enhanced special moves or countering enemy moves.With a full meter, players can unleash their strongest special attack.Players may also expend meter to interrupt a combo, entering a wager battle, dubbed the Clash system, which combines individualized cutscene cinematics with the process of betting meter. A clash may be triggered by a player only after they have lost their first health bar.During the sequence, both players commit portions of their meter in secret, with the highest bidder winning the clash.
The story mode is split into several chapters. As the narrative plays out, the player swaps between different characters. Minigames are also incorporated into the story. The outcome of minigames can impact an upcoming battle, such as giving the player a health advantage over the CPU opponent. Additional features include Battle Mode, Versus Mode, Training Mode, and S.T.A.R. Labs, which includes 240 character-specific challenges of varying difficulty. The game is set between 1765 and 1777, and primarily features the series' first female protagonist, Aveline de Grandpré, an African-French Assassin around the end of the French and Indian War, in 18th century New Orleans.

Gameplay

Liberation makes use of the Vita's touchscreen and rear touch pad, cameras and gyroscope. These include Chain Kill combat, and the ability to pickpocket people.[10] By linking the game to Assassin's Creed III, the player will receive an in-game version of Connor's tomahawk, an exclusive character skin, a multiplayer character and a complete upgrade of all ammunition pouches.[8] The game uses the same engine that runs Assassin's Creed III, allowing for the same gameplay experience as a console release. Aveline also has her own, new, set of animations as well as have the ability to dual-wield weapons, such as the new blowpipe as well as the familiar swords, knives, pistols and hidden blade

Gameplay

One of the new gameplay additions is the introduction of assist characters. Assist characters are chosen during character selection, and can be called in during a match to deal extra damage. Certain combinations of characters create unique jutsu in a match; these combinations reflect the associations of those characters in the anime and manga. Many of the characters' techniques from the previous game were updated. There are many updated ultimate techniques, including the aforementioned assist-specific ones. Summons have been removed from the game. The assist characters cannot be turned off. The game also includes an RPG mode where players can roam sections of the village and interact with the surroundings of the story and villagers.

Trivia

 In the Master Mode, in one of the playable missions, if in a certain conversation with Jiraiya and Tsunade the player answers yes to Jiraiya's question, it will be meet Kasumi again from Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2: Phantom Fortress.
    If the player has a saved file of Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja 4, he will receive letters from Aoi instead of an orphaned girl from a previous mission.
    Due to time constraints and dubbing issues, the game never released in the US, and the EU version is subtitled, lacking any dubbed tracks.
    This game is the only one in the Ultimate Ninja series to not have any removed material from the Japanese version: Ultimate Ninja had Naruto's and Sasuke's trasnformation removed, and re-added as different characters; Ultimate Ninja 2 had Dotō Kazahana removed from the character list, since Ninja Clash In The Land of Snow was not released in the US yet; Ultimate Ninja 3's character's picture were more well-drawn, and the game also came with an OVA giving hints of the Ultimate Contest's crystals locations; and Ultimate Ninja 4 had a separate Plus version with remastered soundtrack.
